The second Camp was held at R. Hans Public School Barkot (Principal: Mr Chauhan) on 17th Nov. 2019. The following attended: Col. Dr. A Khanna, Lt. Col. Dr. Mrs. Manjul Khanna, Col. Dr. H. Bhatia, Col. Dr. Kapil Suri and Lt. Col. C. Woodward. At the regular monthly managing committee meetings of HIMAID, it was decided to look for new areas to expand our outreach, and incorporate school health programs as an additional activity. A survey was done and Damta and Barkot were identified.
Damta (enroute to Yamnotri)
The Medical Camp was held at New Creation Academy on 6-7 July 2019 which was conducted by Dr (Col) Alok Khanna and Lt. Col. Woodward. All the students were medically examined, and suitable medication was dispensed. Most children were in good health. The health record of each child was individually written in notebooks and the school office was requested to maintain the health records. The next day, teachers and some parents were also examained, on request.
Dr Khanna briefed the staff, parents and students on the necessity of nutritious food, clean drinking water, dangers and risks of environmental pollution and preventive health care.
Director (Pastor) Sukhbir, Principal Mr. Sohan Masih and teachers provided all assistance in making the Medical Camp a success.
MEDICAL CAMPS AT BARKOT (16-17 NOV. 2019)
Barkot enroute to Yamnotri and Gangotri is a picturesque hill town, situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, at an elevation of 1220 m above sea level. The place is a major stopover for Gangotri and Yamunotri. The magnificent Banderpoonch (twin peaks – 6316m and 6102m) other peaks of the Garhwal Himalayan range are distinctly visible from Barkot.
Free Medical Checkups were conducted at two of the Schools at Barkot.
The first Camp was held at Himalayan Children’s Academy, Barkot on 16 Nov. 2019. The Principal: Mr Thakur and the teachers were a great help

The second Camp was held on 17 th Nov. 2019, at R. Hans Public School Barkot. The Principal Mr Chauhan and the teachers ably assisted the doctors. Dr. (Col.) A Khanna, Dr (Col.) Mrs. Manjul Khanna, Dr (Col). H. Bhatia, Dr. (Col). Kapil Suri and Lt. Col. C. Woodward were present. During peroids of inclement weather, HIMAID continued it’s activities in the foothills around Dehradun.
HERBERTPUR
A medical camp was organized, with the help of Mr. Greg Mann, MLA; at Carbery Acres, Kunjan Grant on 3 rd Feb. 2019. The camp was attended by retired Army Officers. Dr. (Col.) Rohit Durga, Dr. (Col.) Kapil Suri, Dr. (Col.) Gopal Agarwal and Lt. Col. C hristopher Woodward. 252 patients were examinedand free medicines were provided. Another medical camp was organized in the same area on 3 rd Mar. 2019, again with the help of Mr. Greg Mann, MLA. Dr. (Col) Harish Bhatia, Dr. (Col.) Rohit Durga, Dr. (Col.) Gopal Agarwal, Dr. (Col) Kapil Suri, Dr. (Mrs)Annu Dhir treated 180 patients and free medicines were given.
BAROTIWALA
On 8 th Dec. 2019, another Camp was held at Barotiwala (on Sahaspur - Langha Road), enroute to Vikasnagar and 210 people were present and treatment was offered. HIMAID sincerely acknowledges the encouragement and support of Honorable Gregory Mann,MLA in helping to organize these camps.
SAHASTRADHARA
A Medical Camp was held at the Panchayat Office Hall near the famous village of Sahastradhara on 2 nd Feb. 2020, where (Col.). H. Bhatia, Dr. (Col.) Kapil Suri, Dr. (Col.) V.P. Singh, Dr. Mrs. Annu Dhir, Lt. Col. C. Woodward and Mrs. Christine Woodward were present. 102 people visited the camp and were examined and treated. The ailments noted at these camps were repiratary, eye and ear disorders, arthritis, anaemia, worm infestations and mild to moderate gastro intestinal disorders. The women had complaints of backache, white discharge and menstrual related complaints.
